Thomas graduated from Strathclyde University in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, Statistics and Accountancy. He is a licenced Insolvency Practitioner, authorised by the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
Thomas started his career in insolvency in 2003, he has worked for two top 10 UK accountancy firms before joining the largest personal insolvency provider in the UK in 2015. He returned to Scotland in 2019 following on from a 3-year period in Mauritius where he setup and managed the UK’s first outsourced administrative centre for personal insolvency work.
He joined Harper McDermott in August 2019.
Outside of work, Thomas is married with 3 children and his interests include football, golf, family and friends – not necessarily in that order!
As a Chartered Accountant, Claire has over 20 years of financial and management expertise.
Claire has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1999.
Claire graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BA in Accounting and spent the first five years of her career working for one of the Big Four accounting firms in audit and latterly Corporate Recovery. Claire gained a diverse range of skills working at corporate/group level for two large PLCs.
Claire joined Harper McDermott in 2017. Outwith work Claire is married with three children and as well as spending time with family & friends, she enjoys skiing, fitness and retail therapy!
Clare started working for one of the top four accounting firms in 1999 and has over 22 years’ experience dealing with personal insolvencies.
Starting her career as an Insolvency Cashier, Clare progressed to managing a large team in one of the top insolvency firms in Scotland.
Clare has a wealth of experience in setting up all the processes and procedures for all areas of insolvency administration.
Outside of work, Clare enjoys baking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Amanda started a career in the Legal Industry in 1995, working for a number of major solicitor firms.
She moved on from the legal sector into British Gas, where she worked for several years as a dedicated trainer and team leader.
Amanda joined Harper McDermott in 2015 and is now the Operations Manager for our Advice Team.
Outside of work, Amanda is a mum to two children and enjoys true crime, history, and documentaries.
Scott began his career in 2007, working for one of the UK’s largest mortgage servicing providers.
In 2017, he joined one of the big 4 accountancy firms as a Personal Insolvency Adviser, providing advice to individuals as they entered into the Debt Arrangement Scheme, a Protected Trust Deed or bankruptcy.
Scott joined Harper McDermott as a Manager in 2021 and is responsible for managing the Advice Team.
Scott is married with two children and enjoys football, music, and spending time with his family and friends.
Greg graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2016 with a BSc (Hons) in International Business.
Greg started his insolvency career in 2011, working for a leading personal insolvency provider. He completed a 2-year secondment in Mauritius, where he helped to create the UK’s first outsourced administrative centre for personal insolvency work.
He joined Harper McDermott in February 2020 as our Protection Team Manager.
Outside of work, Greg is often found climbing Munros with his 4-year-old German Shepherd, Kai, or avidly following his favourite football team.
Nicola started her career working for one of the UK’s largest banks but found her passion for insolvency when she joined one of the UK’s leading personal insolvency practices in 2016.
Nicola joined Harper McDermott in 2019 and now leads our Customer Service team ensuring we are providing the highest level of service to each of our customers.
Nicola is now setting her sights on sitting (and hopefully passing!) the first set of exams for insolvency professionals.
Outside of work, Nicola enjoys fitness, music production and spending time with friends & family.
Karlie started her career with a leading personal insolvency firm in 2012 and completed an 18-month secondment in Mauritius, where she helped to create the UK’s first outsourced administrative centre for personal insolvency work.
She joined Harper McDermott in June 2021 as our Closures Team Leader, guiding our clients through the final steps of their debt free journey.
Outside of work, Karlie is kept busy by her young daughter and enjoys socialising and spending time with family and friends.
